Director Joyce Bernal's reaction on Maine Mendoza performance in God Gave Me You

Eat Bulaga's Lenten Special last Holy Wednesday (March 23, 2016) featured the phenomenal loveteam, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, along with Jake Ejercito, Dabarkads Jose Manalo, Wally bayola, Ciara Sotto and That's My Bae candidates in "God Gave Me You".

The story is about two pilots, James (Alden) and his best friend Matthew (Jake). Matthew was set to propose to Dani (Maine) but before he could, he died in a car accident.

The story then revolved around how James and Dani grieved over their loss and how they overcame it together. But more than that, it was a story about learning to forgive and a reminder to treasure the people we love.

It was a romantic drama that showcased the acting skills of everyone on board, especially Maine as she deviated from her usual happy-go-lucky portrayal of Yaya DUB. But it was apparent that Maine did well as even veteran director Joyce Bernal praised her acting skills. Direk Joyce is known for movies such as My Big Bossing's Adventures, Pangako... Ikaw Lang, and Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw.
