Most urban areas battle rat infestations hence, it is quite disturbing to know, as was stated in the video below, that rats are able swimmers with strong stamina (they can swim up to three days and can hold their breaths underwater for three minutes).

According to the video, rats are able to swim up your toilets because their claws allow them to grip on most vertical walls like pipes and their bodies allow them to squeeze through tight spaces.
