If you hear someone saying, "I hate my job. I'm bored, frustrated, and feel like I'm going nowhere." Don't you tell the person to quit her job and find a better one? Shouldn't you follow the same advice?
Sometimes quitting a job can negatively impact your career and disrupt your personal life. But staying in an undesirable situation can be worse.
Sometimes people are able to see the signs that it's time to leave their jobs and they try to resolve their situation while others just gripe or go into self denial that their situation isn't really bad. But there are those who are totally unaware of the signals thats it's time to get out.
Here are 10 signs to help you decide whether it's really time to quit and start looking for something better
- You feel miserable waking up every morning.
Do you dread the moment your alarm clock goes off, because you have to wake up and prepare for work? You also find yourself dragging your feet at every step. - You lack passion.
You feel you no longer have a purpose. Everyone likes to be a part of something bigger which you don't feel anymore. You go home every day feeling like you've worked, but you haven't accomplished anything meaningful. - You literally count the hours until you can go home.
You seem to just daydream all day. You try to get your work done as quickly as possible just so you can get out of there ASAP. - You dislike the people you work with and/or your boss.
It becomes difficult to deal with your colleagues or your manager. And though sometimes you want to work out the problems, they seem unfixable. - Your job duties have changed/increased, but the pay hasn't.
If your company has downsized into double time but nowhere near double compensation. Worse, promises you of salary increase which never happened. - You don't feel like you're learning or growing anymore
