Fried Fish "comes back to life" after being served

Imagine going to restaurant for having some seafood and the fish served to you suddenly comes alive!

The weird 'zombie' fish had been served in sweet and sour sauce on a plate, the fish continued to flap on the diner's plate. The head of the dark grey fish sits on the edge of the plate but despite the remainder of its body being turned into stew, the animal appears to move.

Even though it has no body, the head, gills and fin continue to move.A disgusted diner has recorded the moment a plate of fish was served up to him despite the creature still being 'alive'.

As the diner uses a pair of black chopsticks to carefully select a small portion of the fish's pinky white flesh, covered in a brown sauce and vegetables, the fish begins moving on the plate.

The incident happened at a restaurant in the Yuexiu District of China's Guangzhou Province. Although the video may seem creepy, stories like this are not uncommon.

The fish in the video is not a ‘zombie’ as one would think, there’s a perfectly biological explanation as to why animals might move after they are dead. But it's not the first time a seemingly dead fish has come back to life. Muscle cells in freshly dead animals can still receive electrical commands and have enough chemical energy to contract when they come in contact with a stimulus.

In the case of fish that seem to come back to life, it's most likely an automatic reaction to sodium chloride, better known as table salt.

Most of the tissue in an organism that's recently dead, recently killed, is actually still alive,

In this case, even though the brain function is missing, the tissues will still respond to stimuli.
said Charles Grisham, a Chemistry Professor at the University of Virginia.
