A video from Tech Insider shows the possible events that can happen when the Earth suddenly stops spinning.
Our planet spins on its axis at a speed of 1000 MPH so if it suddenly stopped, we will experience the same effect of riding a car and then stepping on the brakes.
Everything will be thrown flying eastward more then the speed of the Earth's spin. That would include us, cars, rocks, wind, etc.
Because of the sudden stop, it would trigger a gigantic wave or tsunami that can swallow cities in just a minute.
And then the length of the day becomes a year, there would be 6 months of sunny summer, 6 months of cold dark nights.
The bulge of the Earth will flatten and the waters will move to the poles and will create two super oceans. Because of this there will be a land masses will appear on the middle of the planet creating a giant continent.
The Earth's magnetic field will also vanish and will leave us under the harm of the cosmic rays from the sun.
