Counter-flowing Jeepney caught on dashcam

Imagine driving on a fairly pleasant day, with Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean" blaring in the background, when a jeep suddenly gets in your way. You're not in the wrong lane, in fact, he's the one in the wrong lane.

Dashcam caught a jeepney counter-flowing, car owner stood his ground

That's what happened to Jebot Tayson as he was driving along JP Rizal Ext. in Makati last February 24. In a video uploaded by Top Gear Philippines, Tayson's dashcam caught a jeepney completely ignoring traffic rules as it committed illegal or unauthorized counter-flow. But instead of letting the jeepney go, Tayson stood his ground until a Makati Traffic Enforcer (MAPSA) intervened.

Many netizens applauded Tayson's actions, saying he was doing the right thing in teaching discipline to "pasaway" drivers. After all, violations like this not only make traffic worse, but can also cause an accident.

According to reports, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has an ongoing investigation on the matter. They also said that the jeepney's franchise might get suspended and the driver’s license might get cancelled.
