Watch how Construction Tower Cranes grow, simply amazing

Tower cranes are a common fixture at any major construction site. These machines are pretty hard to miss as they often rise hundreds of feet into the air, and can reach out just as far. Generally equipped with a hoist rope, wire ropes or chains, and sheaves, the construction crew uses the tower crane to lift steel, concrete, large tools like acetylene torches and generators, and a wide variety of other building materials.

But have you ever wondered how tower cranes are assembled?

How one day it wasn't there, and how they seem to pop up in the street overnight?

The climber demo video below tells us how.

This is how they set up the giant cranes.

First, a Tower Crane Mast Section is set into a foundation with steel pedestals. Second, the base is set and bolts are installed. The process continues as mast sections are added until the needed height is achieved. The turntable (operator cabin included) is added in the same manner and is often the heaviest piece of the crane. The Tower Top is added next and four large pins are added as the connecting members after which jibs for the crane are assembled.

There's still more things installed after that and it's a pretty long process and may take hours. So watch the video below to find out how a tower crane is assembled!
