But say goodbye to the grueling removal of rust as there is now a machine that uses laser to remove rust and paint from metals. In the video, there is an apparently miraculous handheld laser unit effortlessly stripping away rust, and leaving a near-perfect surface with little mess on the metal.

Called the CL 1000, the machine promises to deliver an amazing performance with 1000 Watts of average laser power, according to its website.

It features a diode pumped laser source for optimum reliability and a system that's virtually maintenance-free. This remarkable laser can be configured for both handheld use and automated applications with a fieldbus interface.



It was developed and designed by a German company called CleanLaser. The machine does not need gas and it easy to automate. Just "plug it in, turn it on and start cleaning/de-coating with all the benefits laser light - without chemicals, media, dust, water and no clean-up."
