Giant Shrimp punches its victim

A Mantis Shrimp, an animal of the size of your finger might be small but it can deliver some of the powerful and fastest punches in the Animal Kingdom.

As seen on this screenshot from the video, it hunts its prey and tries to knock it out with several punches that you can hear outside the aquarium.

Mantis Shrimp knock out its victim with "powerful punch"

The Crab blocked some of the Mantis Shrimp's blows, unfortunately it's causing its shell and pincer to crack and later on fell from the next attacks.

The Crab eventually lose its body parts one by one until the Mantis Shrimp give its final shot.


Mantis Shrimps are called "sea locusts" by the Assyrians, "prawn killers" by Australians and sometimes "thumb splitters" because of its ability to inflict painful gashes to its owners.

There are reports that some of the larger species of the said stomatopods can break an aquarium glass with just a single blow.

Normal species can reach 12 inches in length. They have eyes with hexnocular vision, meaning they can see more colors than humans. Their clubs can easily break wine glasses and it works like a spring loaded machine.
