List of Pokemon that are based on real-life animals and plants

Everytime we think of "Pokemon" we remember our childhood days watching Ash Ketchum collecting all the types of pocket monsters in the anime series.

And the first Pokemon that will come into our minds is no other than the cute yellow electric mouse, Pikachu!

Did you know that most of the Pokemons are based on real-life animals, plants and even things? Here are some examples:

• Bulbasaur
  Based on its appearance, it's a toad with a budding flower at the back, and considered as a grass and poison type Pokemon. It will evolve into Venusaur and then Ivisaur with a full blown flower on its back.
• Charmander
  A reptile Pokemon based on a salamander, with a fire on its tail. As it grows stronger, it will evolve into Charmeleon and then Charizard, which is a dragon type Pokemon.
• Squirtle
  Is based on a tortoise, obviously, and it will evolve into Wartortle then Blastoise.
